Catching Rain

Purpose of Catching Rain

At a time when forces swirl, attackers charm, and fear permeates the air; clarity of thought is our only escape from the Caged Jungle. Deceit of our people is achieved by Monarchs expounding the virtue of their Kingdoms, of clutter finding its way into our minds. Why not engage in the pleasantries of being hooked up to a life support machine, pumping us full of aspirations, goals, debt, plans, pride, entertainment, rationalizations, tranquility, immobility. Our nations, our world is being overrun by enslavement, the type which promises fortune, better yet, lays out a path for the people to succeed. Government for the people, by the people… Betrayed.

A tiny blue spec in our vast Universe, harmoniously existing among the stars. Life flourishes only if the planet triumphs over the decay in responsibility we as a people have towards keeping our home fresh and clean. A new movement has erupted, gaining steam over the past few years, attracting the populace, the masses, they charge into being green. Green? The earth is mostly blue. The government subsidizes the launch of a new green industry, while regulations and taxes on existing industries pay the bill. Meanwhile, campaigns to clean-up the ocean, plant new trees, recycle our materials, wear a sweater instead of turning on the heater, proceed as before, by the effort of volunteers and donations. The green movement has exploded into fashion, with people buying clothes made in sweat shops in third world countries expounding the propaganda of less pollution and more conservation. The island of trash in the Pacific Ocean floats on, while the rain forests slowly burn. We watch movies and listen to music, all raising awareness of the green movement, the entertainment industry flush in profits from the new topic of the day. And yet the air we breathe… Polluted.

We’ve seen Government expand, promising everything from environmental aid, better education, less taxes, help for the needy, peace on earth, and so forth. Aside from new regulations, new departments, higher taxes, and war, what has been delivered? The belief is that if only everyone were to sacrifice a tiny little bit of their freedom of choice on one very small, almost insignificant attribute of our daily lives, then we could, as a society achieve greater prosperity for the whole. And so we do. Now that we’ve solved that problem, if only everyone were to, once again, sacrifice a tiny little bit of our liberty, then we could solve yet another problem of our society. And so we do. Before you know it, we have socialist programs in place which feed the hungry, provide security for those who don’t have jobs, strive to provide health care coverage for most people, regulate almost every industry in one way or another, and so forth. But with every “advancement” which society makes, that’s also one sacrifice which the individual bears in the form of higher taxes (to pay for the new government programs) or less choice and quality of products (due to the stifling of competition). These are very real sacrifices! This is how government grows! The further we progress down the path of individual sacrifice for the sake of society, which is the only way the government can operate, the more we find that it quickly becomes many sacrificing for the benefit of the few.

The question which hopefully comes to mind is: how do we benefit society without individual sacrifice? As contributing members of humanity, we must aspire to help each other. Has there ever been a place which united differing people, to shed their egos, to let each other be heard. A thought which sparked a revolution in our minds, shattered our comatose existence, and genuinely brought out the best in each other? How do we see each other in those moments, as cogs in a machine or as real people? How different are any of us from each other when our minds share a common bond, when the Energy of the Universe flows freely from soul to soul, electrifying our existence in all of the infinite dimensions. Our thoughts shape our lives, and hence the world we choose to live in is of our own creation. We are the creators, tethered to this reality by a body, yet not spiritually bound to anything but each other, as we are all but one entity, and the Energy of the Universe is our collective, pulsating, bringing forth dimensions, realities, whatever we imagine. And so why do we sometimes not imagine ourselves living in paradise, not participating in the creation of happiness, but instead succumbing to the temptation of material gains, all camouflage for the ego? Why do we enslave each other under the pretense that we are helping? Why do we force others to sacrifice for our gains, or better yet, strive for nobility by forcing one part of the populace to sacrifice on behalf of the dopamine drip of the others? When we are all in harmony, we don’t enslave, instead we flourish. And where is this place of beauty, where could it possibly be, but sitting under a tree, atop a mountain, looking out at the oceans, the sky, the Universe.

We are currently faced with 2 problems: the rise of Global Socialism, and the decay of our Environment. Amazingly, these are in tandem. More incredible still, is that the only remedy for both problems is to treat the cause of the disease, not the symptoms. Divide and conquer is a misguided attack in this case because each manifestation is vastly more powerful than anything we can conjure up. Instead, look past the socialist programs, look past the enslavement, look past the muddy snow, look past all that we have been trained to fixate on. We have lots of smart people waxing poetically on the fundamentals of economic philosophy, and how the Free Market Economy is the cure to all our ailments. We have another smart group of people, attempting to overthrow corporations, as they are portrayed as callous henchmen of greed, laying our planet to waste. Both groups are equally dedicated to their cause, and are usually at odds with each other. If only each side would really learn about the other…

What is the purpose of Catching Rain? To help bring about Individual Liberty, so that we all can live within the Energy of the Universe.
